Winner of seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director, Schindler's List tells the incredible story of the enigmatic Oskar Schindler (portrayed by Liam Neeson), who saved the lives of more than 1,100 Jews during the Holocaust. It is the drama of those who survived one of the darkest chapters in human history and the triumph of one man who made a difference. The film has been meticulously restored under Steven Spielberg's personal supvervision.
The screening, the first of a handful of exclusive benefit screenings to be held around the country, commemorates the 20th anniversary of Schindler's List and the founding of the USC Shoad Foundation, established by Spielberg in 1994 to collect and preserve nearly 52,000 eyewitness accounts of the Holocaust and other genocides for education and action.
Two decades after Schindler's List premiered in theaters, this special event offers the opportunity to introduce the film to a new generation of viewers. The film's themes of tolerance and one man making a difference are as important today as when the film was originally released.
All proceeds benefit USC Shoah Foundation - The Institute for Visual History and Education
